The LaPerm is named for its curly coat, which resembles a perm. The La Perm is a Rex breed, meaning it is noted for its unusual coat. LaPerms resulted from a genetic mutation in a Tabby Shorthair. LaPerms first arrived in the U.K. in 2002. La Perms love to purr and show physical affection.
